Yes, the Royale in the title does stands for Battle Royale. And yes, this is a massive (well, 30 players) Battle Royale game. technically.
Rhythm Royale put you and 29 other players trough a bunch of 4 randomized minigames, people who played Fall Guys and other similar games might be familiar with this concept, if there’s not enough players then bots will fill the rest of the slots.
With some fancy music, and what i can only describe as “annoying” duck noises to match. It’s pretty fancy at the beginning but after a while the music and the duck voices did get old really fast, especially when you seems to get the same minigames over and over, despite there’s supposed to be 23 minigames. i wanted to wait until i can experience all of them but can’t seem to get some elusive ones. Maybe just my luck.
Most of the minigames are the usual “replicate this note” game, but some of them do get pretty creative. However some of them are pretty weird and doesn’t seem like it has anything to do with music game, the devs seems to be running out of ideas midway
Like this game where hear a short simplified midi tunes and have to guess “who made this song” listing a bunch of ducks in costume, some of them don’t really look like anyone you might recognize. This is where the game gets confusing and i’d rather reset
That said, the graphics and pigeon design are pretty fun to watch, you can dress up your character and watch other wacky pigeons in the round with you
All in all, this is a pretty fun rhythm game. But it does get stale and repetitive after a while. It’s a novelty game for the musically inclined.
